2019 Election: APC boss, thousands of supporters leave for PDP
A head of Congress of All Progressives, APC, in the state of Kebbi, Alhaji Muatapha Asaija, has left the party.
The business mogul defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, along with thousands of his supporters.
The former aggravated member of the APC said that his defection was due to discrepancies in the last primaries.
Asaija was received by the state executive PDP and candidate for party governor.
He stated that APC was not fair to him during the party primaries.
“They were not fair to me during the recent primary elections, it was not free, fair and transparent.
“Then, that forced me to leave the party with my supporters,” he said.
Speaking, the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate in the state, Senator Isah Galaudu, expressed satisfaction with Asaija’s defection, describing him as a very influential person in the area.
In the words of Galaudu, “we trust in God for total victory. If the people of the state chose us. ”
“I will empower farmers and I will never cheat anyone in terms of disbursement. “We will pay retirees their rights without delay,” he said.
