A catastrophe was reportedly averted at Umuohu Okpula, Ndume group, Ibeku in Umuahia North Native Authorities space of Abia State, when a vigilant grandmother prevented a four-day-old child from being carried away by a hawk.
The grandmother, who gave her identify as Adeline Emmanuel, defined that she was mendacity down, when she heard the loud flapping of chook’s wings.
In keeping with her, she heard noise of a struggling object because the chook was attempting to fly via the window, however fell down on the ground of the one-storey constructing, prompting her to shout at her daughter, mom of the infant, to close the window.
She mentioned: “I noticed the hawk drop down the place my four-day-old granddaughter was sleeping and was attempting to hold the infant who was most likely too heavy for it. “It was then that I began shouting, asking my daughter to shut the home windows.
