Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are currently in a closed-door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Council Chamber of the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.

The governors were led by chairman of the APC Governors Forum and Imo State governor, Rocha’s Okorocha, to the meeting which started by 2:15 pm.

The meeting is the first between the governors and the President since he upturned the party’s earlier extension of tenure for its elected officials at national, state and local government levels, a move that many of the governed were comfortable with then.

The President however, at the party’s recent National Executive Council meeting, dissociated himself from such a move, citing the illegality of allowing the party officials stay in office beyond the tenure allowed by the party constitution, without going for fresh elections at a Congress.
