Just In: TVC Attacked over Controversial Sack of 145 Staff

Television Continental, Lagos which is reportedly owned by a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently in the eye of the storm.

Labour leaders today (Saturday) described the sacking of 145 workers by Continental Broadcast Services Ltd as a national embarrassment.
CBS is the owner of Television Continental and Radio Continental.
Labour leaders who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos condemned the mass lay-off. Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Lagos State chapter, Mr. Deji Elumoye, said the sack was unnecessary and embarrassing to the nation.
According to Elumoye, the sack is uncalled for especially at a time when media houses, including TVC, are under-staffed.
