Niger Delta Ex-Militants Threaten to Shut Down Economy

An open warning message has been sent to the President Muhammadu Buhari administration over its failure to pay the allowances of ex militants.

Former Niger Delta militants, under the Amnesty Phase II, have threatened to go back to the creeks to cause more damages to the Nigerian economy if the Presidential Amnesty Office fails to pay their entitlements.

Aron Emmanuel, Roland Moses and Segba Perez as Chairman, Secretary and Public Relations Officer respectively, gave the warning on behalf of the ex-militants during a conference in Warri on Thursday.

The ex-militants claimed that they have not received their entitlement since 2010 after their training.

They also accused officials of the Presidential Amnesty Office of diverting their stipends kept in Fidelity Bank and Ecobank.
